BOSTON, June 1, 2006/ -- As profits from
increased hotel performance rises in suburban Boston, so do
the number of hotel transactions. Investors have turned
their focus on Boston as it climbs out of the doldrums.

WPH Boston, LLP, Owners of the Sheraton Ferncroft Resort in
the $13.0 Million sale of the Ferncroft Country Club,
Danvers, MA and introduced the Buyers, Affinity Golf
Management of Charlottesville, VA to the project.
This month, O’Connell and Foley represented Peabody Hotel
Group, the Owners in the $5.65 Million sale of the 158 room
Holiday Inn, Randolph and introduced the Buyers, Jiten Hotel
Management to the opportunity. On May 24, the OHG tandem
completed its third hotel sale with the closing of the 191
room, Holiday Inn Newton situated on the Grove Street Exit
off I95/Rte 128. OHG represented the Owners, Grovedale
Associates, LP and introduced the Buyer, Blue Hawk
Investments to the sale.
OHG has two more I-95/Rt 128 hotel sales under contract
totaling $50 Million, expected to close this summer.
“The acquisition activity in Boston and the suburbs has
started to intensify. The Boston Metro area was a laggard in
the national recovery for hotels, however it is now well on
its way to regaining its pre-2000 prominence. We expect to
see at least seven more hotels trade along the Beltway
before the end of the year”, said Jim O’Connell.
